INTERIM REPORT Q1 2020

In Q1 2021, Acconeers net sales amounted to 7 545 kSEK, the gross margin was 74% and five new customer products were launched. In Q1 399 evaluation kits were sold, and an accumulated 3 516 EVK has been sold since launch. The company sold 4 024 modules in Q1, and since launch a total of 9 701 modules have been sold. In total Acconeer has sold 324 212 sensors, out of which 74 881 were sold in Q1 2021.

CEO Lars Lindell comments: "The substantial revenue increase in the quarter is to a large extent thanks to the development agreement made with Alps Alpine, but we are happy to see that increased product sales are also contributing to the growth."

FIRST QUARTER

  • Net sales for the first quarter amounted to kSEK 7,545 (2,150).
  • The Gross margin on sales of goods was 74 (59) %.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -11 876 (-17 701).
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -0.51 (-0.92).

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE FIRST QUARTER

  • Sweden's Innovation Agency granted Acconeer 4 million SEK for a research project on sleep monitoring with Sleepiz and the University of Gothenburg.
  • Acconeer received order from Digi-Key worth USD 47,000.
  • Acconeer received order from Glyn Limited worth USD 156,000.
  • Acconeer received order from CODICO worth USD 96,000.
  • Acconeer and Alps Alpine signed a joint development agreement of Next-Generation Sensing Technology.
  • A distribution agreement was signed with Mouser Electronics and the first order received.
  • It is the company's assessment that the effects of Covid-19 will have a limited impact of operations in 2021. We expect no impact on either the development side or the manufacture of sensors, while the manufacture of modules will be affected by a global shortage on processors that have arisen in connection with Covid-19. Regarding demand for the company's products we expect further delays in customer projects, fewer start-up projects and that our customers' production rate will be affected by the lack of processors.

I första kvartalet 2021 uppgick Acconeers nettoomsättning till 7 545 TSEK, bruttomarginalen var 74% och fem nya kundprodukter lanserades. I Q1 såldes 399 utvärderingskit, EVK, och den ackumulerade EVK-försäljningen sedan lansering uppgår vid kvartalets slut till 3 516. Bolaget sålde 4024 moduler i Q1, och sedan lansering har totalt 9 701 moduler sålts. Totalt har Acconeer sålt 324 212 sensorer, av vilka 74 881 såldes i Q1 2021.

– Den substantiella ökningen av intäkter i kvartalet beror till stor del på utvecklingsavtalet med Alps Alpine, men vi är glada att även se att ökad försäljning av våra produkter bidrar till tillväxten, säger Lars Lindell, vd, Acconeer.

FÖRSTA KVARTALET

  • Nettoomsättningen för första kvartalet uppgick till 7 545 (2 150) TSEK.
  • Bruttomarginalen avseende försäljning av varor uppgick till 74 (59) %.
  • Resultat efter skatt uppgick till -11 876 (-17 701)TSEK.
  • Resultat per aktie, före och efter utspädning var -0,51 (-0,92) SEK.
  • Kassaflödet från den löpande verksamheten var -8 898 (-14 810) TSEK.

VÄSENTLIGA HÄNDELSER UNDER FÖRSTA KVARTALET

  • Vinnova beslutade att ge Acconeer bidrag om 4 miljoner SEK för projekt inom sömnövervakning med Sleepiz och Göteborgs Universitet.
  • En order om 390 TSEK erhölls från DigiKey.
  • En order värd 1,3 MSEK erhölls från Glyn Limited.
  • En order värd 810 TSEK erhölls från CODICO.
  • Acconeer och Alps Alpine signerade ett gemensamt utvecklingsavtal avseende nästa generations sensorteknik.
  • Distributionsavtal signerades med Mouser Electronics och Acconeer fick en första order.
  • Det är bolagets bedömning att effekterna av Covid-19 kommer ha en begränsad påverkan på verksamheten under 2021. Vi förväntar oss ingen påverkan på vare sig utvecklingssidan eller tillverkningen av sensorer, medan tillverkningen av moduler kommer påverkas av en global brist på processorer som uppstått i samband med Covid-19. Gällande efterfrågan på bolagets produkter förväntar vi oss ytterligare förseningar av kundprojekt, färre nystartade projekt samt att våra kunders produktionstakt kommer att påverkas av bristen på processorer.

In the fourth quarter 2020, Acconeer AB's net sales amounted to kSEK 2,956, and seven new customer products were launched. The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -13,927. During the quarter, 501 evaluation kits (EVK) were sold, which is well above the company's target of selling on average three EVK per day.

Lars Lindell, CEO Acconeer, comments: "In the fourth quarter 2020 we were happy to see seven new customer launches, including three in China which continues to be a strong market for us. Otherwise, continued focus has been to finalize the discussions with Alps Alpine, where we hope to be able to sign a contract during Q1 2021."

FOURTH QUARTER 1 OCTOBER – 31 DECEMBER 2020

  • Net sales for the fourth quarter amounted to kSEK 2,956 (1,829) TSEK.
  • The Gross margin was 72 (67) %.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -15,451 (-19,465).
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -0.66 (-1.01) SEK.
  • The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -13,927 (-15,641).

FULL YEAR JANUARY- DECEMBER 2020

  • Net sales for the full year amounted to kSEK 9,505 (5,508).
  • The Gross margin was 61 (61) %.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -62,312 (-68,539).
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -2.85 (-3.58)
  • The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -56,391 (-60,701).
  • Cash and cash equivalents including short term deposits at the balance date amounted to kSEK 82,170 (77,954)

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE FOURTH QUARTER

  • Acconeer received two orders from Digi-Key worth USD 36,000 and 37,000.
  • A distribution agreement was signed with Marubun.
  • Acconeer received an order from BEYD worth USD 421,000.
  • It is the company's assessment that the effects of Covid-19 has had a limited impact on operations in 2020. No impact was seen on the development side, while manufacturing was somewhat affected by a global shortage of processors that occurred in connection with Covid-19. Regarding demand for the company's products, we see that some customer projects have been delayed, but the assessment is that this falls within the margin of uncertainty that always exists.

I det fjärde kvartalet 2020 uppgick Acconeer AB:s nettoomsättning till 2 956 tusen SEK, och sju nya kundprodukter lanserades. Kassaflödet från den löpande verksamheten var -13 927 tusen SEK. In the third quarter 2020, Acconeer AB's net sales amounted to kSEK 2,780, and five new customer products were launched. The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -9,338. During the quarter, 345 evaluation kits (EVK) were sold, which is above the company's target of selling on average three EVK per day.

Lars Lindell, CEO Acconeer, comments: "During the third quarter we have worked together with Alps Alpine to define the next generation radar sensor, A2, to be able to convert the MOU established earlier this year into a signed contract during Q4 2020."

THIRD QUARTER 1 JULY- 30 SEPTEMBER 2020

  • Net sales for the third quarter amounted to kSEK 2,780 (1,693).
  • The Gross margin was 52 (109)%.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -12,325 (-15,476)
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -0.53 (-0.79).

  • The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -38,068 (-41,178).

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE THIRD QUARTER

  • Acconeer received an order from Digi-Key worth USD 52,000.
  • Acconeer received an order from BEYD worth USD 164,000 USD.
  • Björn Bengtsson was appointed as new CFO at Acconeer.
  • Acconeer signed a purchase agreement with Future Electronics.
  • Acconeer has shipped more than 200 000 A1 radar sensors since the company started selling evaluation kits.
  • It is the company's assessment that the effects of Covid-19 will have a limited impact on operations in 2020. No impact is seen on either the development or the manufacturing side. With regard to demand for the company's products, it is likely that some customer projects will be delayed, but the assessment is that this is within the uncertainty margin that always exists.

  • Net sales for the second quarter amounted to kSEK 1,619 (1,436).
  • The Gross margin was 59 (6)%.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -16,836 (-17,607).
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -0.79 (-0.92)
  • The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -13,920 (-15,467).

SIX MONTHS PERIOD

  • Net sales for the six months period amounted to kSEK 3,769 (1,986).
  • The Gross margin was 59 (15)%.
  • Result after taxes amounted to kSEK -34,536 (-33,598).
  • Earnings per share before and after dilution was SEK -1.70 (-1.76).
  • The cash flow from operating activities was kSEK -28,729 (-28,584).
  • Cash and cash equivalents including short term deposits at the balance date amounted to kSEK 109,172 (110,460).

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE SECOND QUARTER

  • Acconeer received two orders from Digi-Key worth USD 29,000 and 30,000.
  • Acconeer AB held its Annual General Meeting on 14 April 2019. Thomas Rex was elected as new Chairman of the Board.
  • Acconeer and Alps Alpine signed an MoU agreement on a joint development agreement regarding the next generation of sensor technology.
  • Acconeer completed a directed new share issue of 4,062,000 new shares, raising proceeds of approximately SEK 65 million.
  • Distributor agreement with Restar was extended to include the Americas.
  • An order from Taiwanese Chip Power worth USD 28,400 was received.
  • AEC – Q100 grade 3 qualification of the A1 radar sensor for the automotive industry was completed
  • Acconeer received ISO certification for quality and environmental management system
  • It is the company's assessment that the effects of Covid-19 will have a limited impact on operations in 2020.

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE FIRST QUARTER

  • Acconeer received an order from Glyn Limited worth USD 12,800.
  •  Acconeer received an order from Digi-Key worth USD 15,100.
  • Acconeer received an order from CODICO worth USD 62,700.
  • The company announced that they have shipped more than 100,000 A!radar sensors.
  • Acconeer received an order from a European customer worth USD 14,700.
  •  It was announced that the company is planning to develop integration-ready Entry Module with low system cost.
  •  Acconeer was awarded three design wins by Alp Alpine for presence detection in cars to a European premium car manufacturer. The estimated potential value of these design wins is SEK 90-120 million over three years starting in 2022.
  • It is the company's assessment that the effects of Covid-19 will have a limited impact on operations in 2020.
