Acconeer, participating in the NextG2Com Vinnova competence center, is seeking a motivated student to join us on a PhD journey. If you’re excited by topics like signal processing, antenna arrays and radar technology, this opportunity is made for you!
Position details:
- Your research will revolve around pulsed coherent radar, core functionalities in single and multichannel radar, collaborative sensing systems and their applications.
- You will work closely with Acconeer employees and other researchers in the NextG2Com center.
- Your time will be 20% at Acconeer and 80% at EIT/LTH, ensuring a blend of industry and academia.
- The position is pending a successful grant from WASP (Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program, https://wasp-sweden.org/industrial-cooperation/industrial-phd-in-industry/). You will receive salary throughout the five-year program.
Qualifications we’re seeking:
- Open mindset and hunger for continuous learning.
- You have a successful MSc in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar with specialization in areas such as signal processing, communication theory, analysis, or signal propagation.
- Communication skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas and collaborate effectively.
- A methodical work style and structured approach that ensures progress.

About Acconeer
Acconeer is a young and innovative company developing the world´s smallest 60 GHz radar. The Acconeer radar sensor combines extremely low power consumption with sub-mm distance estimation accuracy. It enables distance measurements, micro-motion detection, material classification and much more, all within a sensor sized 5×5 mm including antennas. Acconeer is located in a beautiful office in Västra Hamnen, Malmö, Sweden. We are currently a group of around 60 people with high R&D focus, working closely together over the R&D disciplines – IC design, hardware, software, and algorithm research. We have sold more than 2M radar sensors to a large and growing international customer base in the IoT, consumer electronics, industrial and automotive segments. This means our sensors are integrated in everything from car interiors and touchless buttons to industrial tank-level gauges and parking sensors.
